Project Overview

Our client launched their own cryptocurrency in 2022 and experienced a rapid boom in token sales and ecosystem adoption. However, by the time we were introduced in 2024, there was one major issue: no formal financial systems had been implemented.

Their structure had evolved into a complex web of over 15 entities, spread across different regions and categorized by brand and department. Some entities operated in crypto only, others in fiat only, and some in both—but none had consistent, reliable financial tracking.

What they needed wasn’t just bookkeeping—it was a complete buildout of an international finance function, capable of delivering wallet-level visibility, entity-level control, and brand-level consolidated reporting.

The Challenge

The client faced a fragmented financial ecosystem:

• Over 150 wallets across multiple cryptocurrencies
• No reconciliation or financial reporting since inception
• Entities spread across multiple jurisdictions, some operating solely in fiat, others fully crypto-native
• A need for granular reporting at both the brand and department level across all companies
• Lack of financial governance, forecasting, and budgeting

They needed to not only clean up historicals but also build a scalable, automated finance function that could serve internal teams, external investors, and regulatory needs alike.

Our Approach

Finalysiz approached this project with a combination of crypto-native tools, traditional accounting platforms, and strategic reporting frameworks:

1. Crypto Accounting with Tres
   We used Tres to integrate and track over 150 crypto wallets, enabling real-time tracking of tokens, historical balances, and transaction-level details across multiple chains and currencies.
2. Fiat Accounting with Xero
   For fiat-based entities, we implemented Xero, setting up chart of accounts, bank feeds, and recording all fiat transactions—ensuring GAAP-compliant reporting across jurisdictions.
3. Consolidated Reporting Platform
   To meet their request for brand and department-level reports, we deployed a consolidation SaaS platform that allowed us to map financials by cost centers and entities, then roll them up into clean dashboards and reports for leadership.
4. Historical Cleanup (2022–2023)
   We reconstructed over two years of historical transactions—both fiat and crypto—creating audit-ready books and closing backdated periods entity by entity.
5. Departmental Finance Management
   We delivered budgets, variance reports, AR/AP reporting, and monthly financial packages for each business unit. Our team essentially became their full finance department, working in tandem with their operations and leadership teams.

Results

Within a few months, Finalysiz had turned an unstructured crypto operation into a fully operational finance machine:

• All historical transactions across 150+ wallets and 15+ entities were recorded and reconciled
• Monthly reporting was standardized with brand-level and department-level breakdowns
